How do I uninstall my AC?Updated 14 days ago

Though we don't recommend it (because it makes the install later a bit more difficult), you can remove the accordion side panels and unscrew the front frame/wrap from the AC unit.

To remove the side panels, you can extend the accordions all the way and then pull up (there is a plastic connector on the end of the accordion that will slide up until it is free from the frame). Then, there are multiple screws on the top bar and the sides, so you can remove the entire front frame or "wrap" part. Then, it will just be the AC and bottom/top bar. You can also unscrew the top bar completely if you want.

Here's a video of one of our founders uninstalling his AC:

Note:

The Windmill AC was designed to withstand the elements! You can leave your unit year-round without winterizing.

It doesn't need to be covered, however, some customers do buy an AC cover for the winter months, just to be safe. We've collaborated with a local NYC artist to create beautiful, weather resistant indoor covers. Find them on the Windmill Accessories Page!

Please keep in mind, when the temperatures are below freezing, you should not run the unit.
