How do I install the AC in a storm window?Updated 7 months ago
Installing the AC with storm windows requires a little prep on your end. The key is raising the unit in the front so you can maintain the correct pitch and properly clear the storm window frame/lip in the back (since the unit needs to tilt slightly downwards for proper drainage). To achieve this, other customers have used a ~1x2 inch ply wood bumper underneath the front of the unit to raise it up. Of course, the thickness will depend on your window situation and how much the storm windows are raised in the back. Again, the most important thing is making sure the unit tilts about 1° downward for proper drainage.
