The Windmill app is available for iPhone and Android. First, download the app by searching "Windmill Air".
Once you've downloaded the app and registered your account, please do the following:
- In your app, click the " + " icon at the top right to add your device
- Select "Add manually" and then "Windmill Air Conditioner"
- You'll then be prompted to enter your network credentials (WiFi name and password). After entering your information, select next.
- Select "EZ Mode" in the top right and change to "AP Mode"
- Hold down the WiFi button on the unit for 5 seconds until the display's WiFi icon flashes slowly (if it flashes quickly, hold the WiFi button down again for 5 seconds - this time, it will flash slowly)
- Then click the small circle next to "Confirm WiFi light is flashing"
- Connect your phone to the device's hotspot following the on-screen prompts (you'll need to go to your phone's WiFi settings and select the "SmartLife-XXXX" option)
- Once connected to "SmartLife-XXXX", go back to the app and wait for the device to initialize (leave the phone on the top vents for best results). [If the WiFi icon stops flashing or disappears, that's a good signal! Be patient and the app will connect. If the WiFi light stops flashing and the app says error, that's OK. Refresh your app, and you should be good to go].
Note: You may have to repeat a few times until it connects, depending on your phone and how closely you hold it to the unit's WiFi module (closer the better). Once you're connected successfully, you won't need WiFi to control your Windmill AC (you can do it from anywhere where you have data!).
