Can my window AC cool several rooms at once?Updated 4 days ago
In most cases, a window AC can partially cool multiple rooms if doors are open and the square footage is within boundaries of the BTUs—but there are important limitations. Here's what to expect:
Even Cooling Across Multiple Rooms
Cool air will stay mostly in the room where the unit is installed. Adjacent rooms will likely not be as cold.
Deal with Heat Loads from Multiple Spaces
If rooms have different sun exposures, electronics, or people, the unit may not keep up.
Push Air Around Corners
If the rooms aren’t in a straight line, airflow drops off dramatically.
